Busy Days

The last few days have been a whirlwind of activity. I've hardly had time to think let alone write a blog. We had company the other night and Uncle Jon insisted I get cleaned up so I'd be sparkling white - I'll admit I was getting a little dingy coloured. I tried to let him know my Mom and Dad wash me gently in a sink but you likely know Uncle Jon. Once he gets going on a track it's hard to get him to change. It was a pretty scary being in a rain storm in that tall box thing. The funny thing was Uncle Jon didn't mind it all. He had bubbles going everywhere and he even started to sing. (That part was very scary.) After almost drowning in there Aunt Sue rescued us both and for a moment I felt safe. But it wasn't long before Uncle Jon came up with this really bright idea to dry my fur. He put me in the back of their truck and drove as fast as he could through town. I wanted to wave to all the people who were pointing and staring but I had to hold on as best I could to a bungee cord that was looped through a hook in the back of the truck. It was all I could do to hang on. I'm not sure what my mom will think of my missing teeth. I guess it was worth it though as our company made a big fuss of me. They still wouldn't feed me at the table. I really think that Uncle Jon and Aunt Sue need to lighten up on that one.

The next day Auntie sue and Uncle Jon took me with them to this neat old building with lots of places to sit. But first we went into a room at the back and once again, they got to eat and drink and forgot to give me anything. After a while this lady in a long white robe came sweeping in and made us all go and sit down. She sure is bossy. Then all kinds of people started jumping up and down. I don't know what they were doing but one guy got up and said he's a "wiener convener" so I started hoping I would still get a snack. But no such luck...he just sat down. It wasn't long after that I noticed a really, big dog sleeping on the other side of the place. He looked bored so as soon as all the people were watching the lady in white, I made my way over for a visit. I guess I shouldn't have nipped his tail to get his attention. But the fuss that all those people made wasn't really necessary. As I ran under all those feet with that big dog close behind me we might have knocked over a few older ladies but I'm not sure they didn't want to sit down anyway. And it sure livened up the whole place. Uncle Jon seemed to want to play too and he started running after us. I don't know if we're going back there soon but it sure was fun.
